Youtuber and Makeup Artist Sona Gasparian launched her makeup line ‘Persona Cosmetics’ and her first product ‘ Persona identity Eyeshadow Palette’ . She finally revealed what she was working on the past year, and it is this beautiful palette. I have been watching Sona for years and I love her tutorials. How does the palette performs?
The eyeshadows are really of a high quality and the color selection is so versatile . They are all very pigmented and they blend nicely . The formula is very creamy and buttery. The eyeshadows are very soft that’s why they are a little bit powdery. They might leave some kick up on the packaging .A good tip is to always tap off the excess before applying the colors. This way you will reduce the fallout under the eyes.
While Sona says that she made the palette especially for brown eyes, I think that the shades work on all eye colours. The neutral colors can be used to create a lot of natural looks that may suit a lot of skintones.
The shimmers give the eyelids a beautiful shine while the mattes perform nicely to complete a smokey look. The shades ‘goal digger’ and ‘seductive’ look stunning when applied all over the eyelid. ‘sassy’ is a beautiful inner corner or brow bone highlight. ‘charming’ and ‘maverick’ perform well as transition shades.’Fearless’ or’Bossy’ are nice to darken the outer corner. If you like matte smokey eyes, ‘audacious’ is a beautiful color for fall. For .those who prefer shimmer smokey eyes, ‘ goddess’ is the perfect choice.’I like that she included ‘humble’ as a basic matte shade and ‘chic’ as a purple. ‘Chic’ is not as pigmented as the other matte colors so it looks less dark on the eyes.
For a natural everyday look, apply ‘humle’ to brighten the eyelids, ‘charming’ to define the crease and ‘sassy’ to highlight the inner corners of the eyes and the browbones. By the way, you can also apply ‘humble’ as a highlighter for the face and it looks so pretty!
For a smokey night look, apply ‘seductive’ all over the eyelid, ‘charming’ into the crease, ‘maverick’ into the outer crease, ‘fearless’ or ‘bossy’ on the outer corner. Highlight the inner corners with ‘goal digger’ for a strong blinding highlight!
I have found that these shadows do perform better when used with a primer. I have oily eyelids and the colors started to fade on me after 7 hours of wear. I’ve done a lot of looks with this palette and I’ve been wearing the colors during the day and night. They have a good staying power and they don’t tend to fade after blending.
I really enjoyed this palette and I think it is a great one. The packaging is so sleek which makes it great for travel and the color selection is nice. This could be your go-to palette for any occasion! You can use it to create natural looks and sultry smokey date night looks. This palette is also cruelty free so thumbs up for that! I think that, for the price, the Persona identity eyeshadow palette is a great deal! It performs better than many high end palettes that I own and that are more pricey than this one.
Congratulations to Sona on her makeup line! She has done such an amazing job with this palette .She also announced on her blog that she is already working on her next product and I am really excited for that too!
