The Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush flawless foundation is finally here, and it promises to give a very long-lasting and weightless finish.

This new Charlotte innovation claims to be a hybrid magic skincare foundation. It claims to give the skin a flawless, poreless-looking, and confident complexion.

It comes in a very luxurious oval-shaped glass bottle with a gold top. It also has a pump applicator and it contains 30ml of product.

I’ve been testing this foundation for almost two weeks, so let’s see how it worked for me.

How many shades does the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush flawless foundation offer?

The Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush flawless foundation comes in 44 shades which covers a variety of undertones.

In fact, this is a good shade range, so there should be a good match for everyone.

The shades are divided into cool, neutral, and warm undertones. I got shades 3 cool and 3 warm.

How to choose a Charlotte Tilbury foundation shade?

There is a shade finder tool on the Sephora website that might help you in choosing your shade.

There is also a shade finder on the Charlotte Tilbury website.

It can help you discover your perfect shade match.

The shades can be a little bit confusing online, and you might need to go darker with this foundation.

Choosing the correct shade is a little bit tricky, so I suggest taking your time and doing your research before making any decision.

The charlotte tilbury complexion matrix is also very helpful. It helps you discover the shade range of any Charlotte tilbury foundation.

Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush flawless foundation Review

This foundation has a light formula. It should be used with a light hand because a little bit goes a long way.

You only need the tiniest amount, so only one pump is enough for medium coverage. It’s also buildable, so you can layer it for more coverage.

The formula is thin but not very liquid. It blends best with a flat foundation brush and gives the skin a semi-matte finish.

I’ve found that it might separate on my skin when applied with a damp sponge.

Tip: You hardly need any product to cover your whole face, so start by applying a little bit and add more only if needed.

It has a very light fragrance that thankfully doesn’t linger.

I tested it at first over a heavy moisturizer, but it didn’t work. It started separating, and my face looked so uneven and cakey.

I have slightly dry skin, and this foundation worked best for me when I wear it over a very lightweight moisturizer.

It helps blur the pores and minimize their appearance, and it looks nice in photos.  I don’t set it with powder, but people with oily skin might need to. It wears well on my face for about 6 to 8 hours.

I like to mix it with a liquid highlighter like the Becca liquid highlighter  for everyday use to make it look sheerer.

I also like to use the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood flawless filter, which was released last year.

It gives a beautiful, healthy glow to the skin.

It claims to be transfer-proof, which is true. It needs a heavy cleanser to be removed at the end of the day. I prefer to use a cleansing oil at first to let the makeup meltdown, and then I follow with a regular cleanser.

The oil makeup remover I love is the dermalogica precleanse cleansing oil. Then I follow with either the dermalogica cleansing gel or any other cleanser that works to remove the residue.

Is Charlotte Tilbury airbrush flawless foundation good for dry skin?

This foundation might look matte on dry skin when worn on its own. It might accentuate dry patches and make them look more obvious. If you have dry skin, preparing the face before the application is very important.

The first thing to do is exfoliate the skin to remove dry skin cells. Hydrate your skin with your preferred moisturizer, wait for it to get absorbed by the face, and then apply this foundation.

Does it oxidize?

This foundation didn’t oxidize on me. However, I’ve found the shade range to be a little bit darker than what I used to pick before. Choosing your perfect shade is a very important step, so be sure to do your research, see a lot of swatches online, and visit your nearest store if possible.

Final Thoughts

And that’s it! These were all my thoughts on the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush flawless foundation. I think it works best for someone who likes full coverage and who has normal to slightly oily skin. People with dry skin might struggle to make it work. On the other hand, people with very oily skin might need to set it with a powder because it can separate throughout the day.

If you have mature skin, this foundation might not be the best choice as well. You still can make it work by mixing it with a light moisturizer or with the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood flawless filter , but it’s up to you to decide if it’s worth it to make all this effort.

    • I wear the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush flawless foundation over a lightweight moisturizer. it didn’t sit well over silicone based primers. I don’t set it with a powder but people with oily skin might need to set it with a lightweight loose powder.

  1. Loving the whole look of this foundation. It’s looks so pretty and chic. I’m not usually a fan of full coverage, but it’s nice to have for night out or when you want to take some professional photos. Lovely review. xx
